Hot summer days call for ice cream, but don't just throw away those ice cream sticks! We are advocates of low-carbon, eco-friendly living, and those ice cream sticks can be repurposed for various crafty and creative projects.
Materials Needed: Ice cream sticks, paper cups, brown paint, paintbrush, yarn, Cut the bottom of a disposable paper cup, leaving a height of 4cm - 5cm. Attach ice cream sticks to the outer edge of the cup, leaving enough space between sticks to fit two strands of colored yarn. Brush the ice cream sticks with brown paint. Begin weaving by tying one end of a colored yarn to the ice cream sticks, ensuring it's snug against the rim of the paper cup. Then, wrap the yarn around the ice cream sticks, going forward and backward. When you've completed most of one strand, tie it to the next strand, making sure to keep the yarn tight for a neat result. Continue this process for the third, fourth, and fifth strands of yarn. Finally, attach the loose end of the remaining yarn to the ice cream sticks. Your colorful pencil holder is now complete!
Ice cream sticks, as a new DIY material, offer eco-friendliness as well as simplicity in crafting. You don't need advanced sculpting skills, just your hands to piece them together, making them a fantastic tool for nurturing creativity in young minds.
